The Hacienda del Monte-Pelado

The Hacienda del Monte-Pelado (English: Estate of the Bald Mountain) is a large building located at the northwest of the Island of the White Leaf Desert. The main attraction of the place is the warm sauna baths.

The place is divided into three main sections; the building entrance is a small café where the customers can enjoy a drink. This section also contains a ladder to the roof, located behind the cashier. On the roof sits a wise rabbibunny playing his flute. The second room is a passage from the café to the saunas. A big fountain covers most of the room's space. The third section is the sauna, divided into a men's room and a ladies' room.

The hacienda is owned by a grobo. Across it is a nameless island, often referred to as the Island across the Hacienda.

Although nothing major happens to Twinsen in the hacienda itself, it does serve a few roles in the game. First of all, in order to get to the Island across the Hacienda, Twinsen first has to look at the island through the telescope located on the roof, to know of the island's existence and tell Dino-Fly he wants to go there. In order to reach the roof, Twinsen needs to make a visit to the ladies' sauna room. After the owner comes to take him out of there, the way to the roof is free. While at the roof, Twinsen can also talk with the wise rabbibunny there, who tells him important information, such as the location of the School of Magic, or that he is concerned about the disappearance of the wizards.

It is also at the hacienda that the Esmers organize a meeting for the wizards. All wizard who come there are taken to their base, through a secret passage in the men's room at the sauna. The Esmers then take the wizards to their planet, Zeelich. By graduating from the School of Magic, the Esmers believe Twinsen to be a wizard too, and thus take him to Zeelich, where he finds out about the wizards' fate.
